The Weakest Muscle Most People Have

Words I Live By:

“A real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken new action.
If there’s no action, you haven’t truly decided.” — Tony Robbins

Most people think decision-making happens in their head.

It doesn’t.

It happens in your actions.

Want proof of this?

Look at your calendar for the last 30 days or better yet, the last 3 months.

Audit it.

Get an unbiased party to look at it with you, if need be.

Your calendar will show you a receipt of the life you are building.

What does it say?

If you haven’t exercised vigorously and tried to strengthen your body. Don’t you dare tell me you value your health, your longevity, or your ability to play with your future grandkids...

If you haven’t spent time calling or hanging out with your friends or family. Don’t you dare tell me you value your community, your social connections, or your new or old relationships.

If you haven’t spent time communicating with your significant other, and instead sit on the couch “together” doom scrolling your phone. Don’t you dare tell me you value building a strong loving bond.

Decision-making is a muscle.
And most people’s are weak.

We live in a world of endless options — infinite tabs, infinite plans, infinite “one days” and “somedays.”
And because we can do anything, we struggle to commit to one thing.

But here’s the truth:

A real decision means cutting off every other possibility.
That’s where the word “decide” comes from — the Latin decidere, meaning to cut off.

To decide means you burn the other ships.

No backdoor. No “maybe later.” No Plan B.

That kind of decision carries force.
It demands change.
It demands action.
It demands you follow through long after the emotion fades.

It’s freakin’ admirable.

It’s why we commend professional athletes, actors, olympians, business tycoons.

Because they not only made a decision to DO THE THING — THEY STUCK WITH IT.

If you want to master anything — your business, your body, your jiu jitsu, your relationships — your decisions have to align with who you want to become.

Your health is a reflection of the decisions you’ve made about your body.
Your calendar is a reflection of the decisions you’ve made about your time.
Your bank account is a reflection of the decisions you’ve made about your priorities.

Those are the receipts of your choices.

You don’t need more time, motivation, or clarity.
You need to strengthen your decision-making muscle — and follow through.

Takeaway:

Look at your last 30 days.
Your time. Your money. Your habits.
Do they align with the person you say you want to be?

If not, decide again.
And this time — cut off every other option.

If you do this, just know that you are 6 months away from COMPLETELY changing the course of your life.

6 months of flexing this muscle has the ability to change your body, your relationships, your habits, your financial situation.

It's not easy, but it is simple.

Until next Monday,

– Tim

P.S.

Your life is shaped less by what you want and more by what you’re willing to decide on.

Strong decisions create strong lives.
